Polished concrete walls combining natural timber elements

Steel reinforcing sculpture for stair balustrade

Exciting inspiring spaces that also provide intimacy.

Darlinghurst

Dover Heights New Residence

Located on the ridge top of Sydney's escarpment overlooking the beach side suburb of Bondi, a three level curved concrete wall is the core of this house with ‘holes punched out of it’ to enable the occupants to pass through to different zones.

Frameless glass rails become ‘invisible’  so as not to impede on the extensive views.

Timber floors, stone feature walls, rugs and furnishings combine with the polished concrete 'core' to provide warmth.

Recycled timber

Pool deck

Excavation into the rock was required to build the pool. Natural rock was retained where possible

Pool Deck with outdoor sunken lounge overhead

An outdoor shower with hot and cold water services the pool area. The cantilevered outdoor sunken lounge takes in the ocean views

Outdoor sunken lounge and living room

Recessed tracks for doors that disappear into a wall cavity when opened create the ultimate indoor / outdoor space

Entry Colonnade

Recycled timber beams that were once power poles support the glass roof over the walkway from the entry gate to the front door

Bedroom balcony

View from the bedroom balcony looking east

Bedroom balcony looking down

Looking down through the recycled timber pergola beams over the outdoor sunken lounge on the mid level and the swimming pool on the lower level

View from Entrance

Looking down from the front entry towards the dining and living areas and the stairs up to the bedroom level. Materials and finishes include - Polished concrete floors, recycled timber planks for stairs, recessed niche shelving with 'relaxed render' finish, concrete feature walls. Timber cupboard doors in the foreground (for kids school bags and soccer gear) are laser cut with mirror backing.

Recycled timber beams overhead and monastery doors from India give a glimpse of what is to follow inside the gates

Vaucluse Harbour Residence

Overlooking 100 year old trees, this home is a celebration of its natural surroundings. Made possible by the use of concrete, steel and glass and by judicious design of its spaces.
